Workshop for children: Sand casting (afternoon)

BornholmCraftWeeks

Kl. 3:00 PM–4:30 PM
7 Sep 8 Sep
Nexø

Do you want to be an archaeologist or an artist when you grow up? You don't have to wait that long. Join us on a marvelous journey back and forth in time as we excavate our very own fossils and relics from the past! Together, we will learn how to make plaster casts of hollow spaces that we shape in sand. We will dig with our hands and make imprints with things from nature. Only imagination sets the limits for what we can find. Who knows, maybe you'll discover a previously unknown dinosaur bone or create an artwork the world has never seen before.

Workshop leader:

Lisbet Thorborg Andersen, graduated ceramicist from the Design School Bornholm at the Academy of Fine Arts in 2019. Lisbet has specialized in sand casting as a method to create unique sculptures in porcelain.

Practical information:

The workshop is for children aged 6-10 years old. Adult assistants are welcome.

Materials and a small snack are included in the ticket price.

Everyone will take home at least one casting when the day is over.
