Artist Talk at Hjorths Keramikfabrik

The Alchemical Encounter Project emerged from dialogues between Vejen Art Museum and ceramists Ane Fabricius Christiansen and Vinni Hedegaard Frederiksen, aiming to explore the work of local sculptor Niels Hansen Jacobsen (1861–1941). Vejen Art Museum invited 10 contemporary ceramic artists to engage in a dialogue around Jacobsen’s artistic practice from 80–120 years ago.

The project culminated in the exhibition ALCHEMICAL ENCOUNTER, which has now traveled from Vejen Art Museum to Hjorth's Factory on Bornholm, where it engages in further dialogue with Bornholm ceramist Hans Hjorth (1878–1966).

Join two of the participating ceramic artists, Vinni Hedegaard Frederiksen and Ane Fabricius Christiansen, as they share insights and experiences from this artistic research project.

In the Artist Talk, the two ceramists will discuss their collaborative process, sharing how working closely as professional peers allowed them to exchange knowledge, experiment side by side, and discover new insights through the merging of artistic practice and collective experience. They warmly invite you into a conversation about materials, processes, and the fruitful outcomes achieved when artists collaborate and develop together.

The exhibition ALCHEMICAL ENCOUNTER is open Monday through Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm.
